|
|
I have been doing a lot of looking on the internet and talking to a some friends that have some sub knowledge and have heard a lot of information both ways-to break in a new sub or just crank it right out of the box. Do you guys have any say in which to do?
My specific sub is the Pyle Hydra marine 12" 600 watt |

| i've always heard you should leave the gains on the amp lower at first, probably around 3/4. |

A speaker is designed to work out of the box, it's not a gasoline motor. You can play it right out of the bos, but ake sure you have the sub in the proper box, before you crank it.
Gains on the amps are desined to match the preset voltage level of your deck, they are not "really" a volume control.
Pyle is junk, fyi. Sorry spent many dollars and much time on audio and it's not worth it to spend money on low end gear. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid

When you start dealing with the so called "super-subs", usually in the $300+ range, that routinely handle 1000+ watts RMS, a lot of manufacturers will suggest a break-in procedure. Its usually something along the lines of dont go above half power for the first couple hours of play time, then gradually work up to full power. I broke in my elemental e12a properly, and its been taking 1100 watts RMS for 6 years now without a problem. _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)
