What messenger applications would you guys recommend for workers who are remote?

One key feature would be screen sharing.

Thanks guys.

if you can have it, Lync is fantastic. Otherwise, I'd probably just use Skype.

We are a global company and use webex... allows you to all call into local numbers for conference calls. Has screen sharing, etc. It also has a built in interface for IM, and links to outlook for all of my meetings. I just hit a button at meeting time, and it takes me into the conference and connects me using VOP.

I used Big Ant Messenger. It comes with 10 free licenses. You have to forward 2 ports in the firewall, but you can select the ports and destination. Its a pretty good client, lightweight and 10 free took care of the place that I supported.
