just ordered a roswell tower for my 1987 sierra (ski) supreme. Does anyone out there own a roswell tower? if so, give me some feedback.
Also because my boat is older i'm thinking i'll have to reinforce the fiberglass. can some one give me a couple of pointers on doing this.
any info would be great.
Thanks |

Steve-o,
I just put a Roswell tower on my 1989 Supra Comp. See my profile for pic. The install is not too bad. Mostly depends on how accessible the mounting points are. I did not reinforce the fiberglass - just used the backing plates that came with.
pm me if you would like more info.

t-bone...
Your boat looks exactly the same as my Tige Comp. I haven't really had mine on the water yet as I got it just before winter hit. How is yours for a wake? How much was your tower? I'm leaning towards monster tower due to price. I think I'd going to use a pole this year though. THe boat is sucking the money out of me for insurance and payments. Let me know.

graphik,
I'm new to the wakeboarding thing so wake comparisons are limited. Can't help much there. The tower was not real cheap - $2289 (with free shipping) at WakeboardBoats.com. I worked with Brad Clayton.

roswell towers are actually canadian made. I know you ride on the grand around cambrigde. Contact McClintocks they are rowell tower dealers, i think they are the only ones in Ontario. _________________ Save a board...ride a wakeboarder! |

When you drill the hole for the base check the thickness of the fiberglass, if it is under 3/8" you may want to lay a few more layers glass in or at least put extra wood under the front backing plates. I have not done a Ski Supreme but all the other Comp Ski/Board boat's I've seen are plenty thick enough and really well built. _________________ Founder of Monster Tower Wakeboard Towers

| The ski supreme is a really well made boat, and you probably dont need to reinforce the fiberglass, just use the backing plates provide. The Roswell towers are built in Alberta, Canada. In my opinion I can't justify the price for a tv and dvd and stuff. How many people would be like, wow its really hot out here on the lake, wanna watch Gone in 60 Seconds. Although its ideal for coaching and training to show mistakes that riders make instantly. I know a few people who have them and they say they are the most annoying thing, rattling and what not. They had said headphones or earplugs would make the boat and tower enjoyable. On the new ski supremes they use Phat buddie and samson towers. www.samsonsports.com |

Dane - Your profile has a link to Samson on it so there's a definate connection it appears.
Please, contribute if you can add value dude but but don't dis other towers. If you have a connection, throw a shameless plug once in a while but I dont believe any tower builder is out to create an inferior product for fellow wakeboarders, and none deserve to get bad comments from competitors in this medium.
We're all just doing the best we can to make products for a sport we love. We are proud to be compared to the established players becuase we've seen their products and virtually all are doing a really great job in all areas and making excellent towers.

Good call MonsterTower & steve-o. From what I've seen Roswell towers are a great product backed by great people. Every time I talk with them they are more than willing to help me out with advice, even if it is towards someone elses product.
At the Chestermere water festival last year Roswell gave a tower away. It ended up going to a kid on his birthday! I thought that was awesome. I love it when the local companies support the local scene. I know you guys were there supporting that tournament too, which is great. When we were looking at getting a boat you guys were great to deal with, we never ended up getting a ski supreme as they were a little out of our price range. But none the less I wouldn't spoil the repulation you already have.
If I had to buy a tower right now, or recomend one to someone in Alberta I would have to go with Roswell. _________________ Riders Inc. |

Roswell has been very good to work with. Although I have not had a chance to get to the lake to try out the tower, the tower seems very tight. I'm thinking it will not rattle. I will let you folks know how it works out for me.

| How bout this, if you dont buy samson, i dont give a stuff. I would suggest not purchasing a Roswell Tower, and I have a few reasons for this. Im local to where they are made, I know quite a few people who had them put in. One guy's boat they installed the thing wrong and had to patch the holes where they messed up on. Two, a few people had said their towers was the worst thing they put on their boat. It was so loud wearing head phones or ear plugs would have been best. It rattled to beat the band. They look cool, but woooppppeeee. It wouldn't matter to me, if you had baught a samsong tower. I just promote good products, they're board racks are built in, welded right on so people cant steel them. they can fold down in two places and your highest point would be the windshield. |

Man, you must be a sales rep, you dis other towers then go into how good samsong towers are. seriously, theres a point of reccoending your product and a point where your just saying you own opinion
you say that they installed it wrong so they had to patch it. why would that matter how good the tower is? its just a company Bubb Rubb up big deal. and T-Bone said he put his on himself so why does that matter? |

Ok, ok, no fighting here, whoever can throw the sickest trick wins! Anyways, from what I have seen Roswell's are nice towers. I personnally prefer Monster's but I have not had much experience with Roswell or Samson. Tell me how the Roswell works, I am rather curious. _________________ Pulling fat people out of the water is fun...I get to use my engine. |
