Imac movie help.

I have tons of video from my Camera I wish to save to my laptop, edit, and upload for my family and friends to see.

I can get the vids up loaded. Edited (somewhat, still learning). And then save as a .mov document. But when I try to upload to youtube or something, it keeps timing out. One of my vids is pretty long. But it's under the time limit.

I have lots of wheeling footage I need to get online. If I save the document by choosing "Share", and save to my personal documents that should do it shouldn't it? I keep getting empty.mov warnings from YouTube.

I have an older Mac laptop with OS X.
