try this. cut in handle at hips/low.
once you it the wake let go with your back hand the second your in the air for balance. and keep you handle low and near your hip. when you land really exagerate the squat the first few times to make sure you land. _________________

| I have the same problem. It feels so unstable and I end up sideways in the air a lot of times. I have been trying to get this down for a few seasons now, but only going a few times a season it is tough to practice. |

STANG KILLA SS, is right about focussing on the handle, getting it low, and getting nice and low in the landings. But with all due respect, don't let go with the back hand as soon as you get in the air. It is an easy habit to get into but a very bad one. By all means let go with the back hand as you land if it feels natural, but if you get your handle in the right place (think tucking it into your left hand back jeans pocket assuming you are regular) you shouldn't need to. But don't let go as soon as you take off, because you will lose all the power in the line and you will have a very hard job getting it W2W.
Focus on the body position coming in on TS (nice and straight and NO BENDING AT THE WAIST!!!), and concentrate on keeping the edge hard all the way up the wake. Most problems come from breaking at the waist or letting off the edge halfway up the wake. It gets more and more natural with time.
The going sideways in the air thing is just down to handle position. If you let the handle come out in front of you, you turn sideways. That is why a TS FS180 W2W is easier than a straight TS W2W, because the rotation comes naturally. Focus on forcing that handle to your ass and you will keep on your TS edge as you land.
Letting go with the handle with the back hand as soon as you are airborne is a cheap fix to the problem, but it want do you any favours in the long run. |
