I've tried using lysol (sp?) and scrubbing, but that only seems to work about half the time. What do you guys use to get them out?

I found that Armor All All-Purpose Cleaner(blue label) is great with stains on carpet, I use it in my truck all the time. I still don't know how you get water spots on carpet though Rolling Eyes

Are you sure they aren't stains from something else? How happy are you when you're on your boat? Water spots should not occur. Centurion carpets, among others, snap out for easy cleaning.

Mold is going to be very hard to get off the carpet. First you have to kill it. Usually a bleach solution is good at that, but I'm not sure I would want to use it on your carpet. Then you have to get as much of it up as you can. You best bet is to try to steam clean it if possible.

You need to fix the problem that is causing the mold to grow in the first place. If you just trying to clean the mold up without fixing the problem, you are destined to have the mold come back. Your problem is that you are not getting enough air circulation in the boat. You can put your boat away wet as long as it has good circulation and it won't mold. I suspect your cover doesn't breathe well. You need it either get a better cover, or prop the cover up so that air can get under the sides of the cover while it's on the boat. I've used those pool swim nootles and shove them under the side grab rails and stick them between the cover and the gunnel. This creates a 4" gap that air can pass in. You might also want to place a small fan in the boat when it is wet to help prevent to mold.

Good luck. Mold can be very hard to get out of fabric once it starts.

Thanks, I'll try using the pool noodle trick. But yeah, my covers pretty air tight. The mould only comes when the carpet is wet, so I always make sure that its dry before I put it away. The only problem is that the cover leaks near the bow walkway, so whenever it rains, the carpet gets wet.

We ride year round and never have trouble w/ the carpet...When we are done we pull all the cushions out about an inch and put two fans and an air dryer into the boat before covering. the circulation drys everything carpet cushions stereo condensation on engine....everything. Ive never figured out what it costs for power but.....I dont have to clean as often. When you get it clean and dry...try 303 fabric proctectant...this stuff works well you can spill a dark beer on it and it wont stain. If there is a spill we just dilute the spill and vacume when home while its wet. I had some bad stains in my x-star (I bought it used) I took the boat to an upholstery shop and had a snap-in carpet made. cost like $80.00 but worked killer. I think fans and a dryer work best total for everything is under $50...later

There are vents you can get for your cover where the struts go. They work great.
