I know that fighting dosn't make you a man, but do we have any folks up in here that are into martial arts or just like to sqaure up in the bars. Ive been training in shoot wrestling, kickboxing, and jijitsu/submission wrestling for the past two years on and off. I have fought one amaeture bout at extreme freestyle combat challenge 9 last january. Hoping to fight again in september, just gotta get in shape. The fighter I train under is dave strausser who just won his first ultimate fighting championship bout about a month ago. Any other full contact fighter use this site? I gotta say I never feel as alive as when i step up against some big dude, dosn't matter if I win or loose but just that I have the nads to do it. Greatest rush in the world.

I've been doing Tae Kwon Do for a little while now. Not interested in really fighting though. I just got into it for the exercise. Hoping it will make me more flexible and help a little with coordination.

I was trained in Brazilian JiuJitsu and submission for about a year - back when I worked as a bouncer. I never competed, but the guys I trained with did constantly. My instructor recently moved to Japan to try and qualify for PanCraze. I'm glad that I learned all of the techniques, but I'm more of a mellow guy and have always been a strong beleiver in resolving things in a peaceful/mature way. However, the training did come in handy when I'd have to forcefully remove some drunk ass from the bar.

Buergday I work the door at a nightclub now and I must say the same thing. I wrestled in high school and use a move or two every time...even if it is something as simple as gaining wrist control. The full nelson is also a fave of mine with the really out of control jerkoffs....very easy to "accidentally" bounce their forehead off of walls, cars, etc on the way out.

jt09 - Haha - That brings back a few memories! I bounced a guys forehead off of the brick wall in front of the bar once - a little too hard, actually. I didn't feel too bad about it though, because there were three guys fighting and only me to break it up. Two of them were kicking the sh*t out of a guy in the entry hall, so I put one of them in a fierce chokehold from behind, dragged him out the door and kinda push/released him into the wall. Shocked

oops -didn't mean to leave a golfball sized lump on your forehead dude! It was a crazy fight. To make a long story short, after a solid 10 minutes of fighting with these clowns I ended up with my clothes totally covered in blood - never got hit once though. The two guys who started the whole thing (who must have been on crank or something) kept coming back to the bar that night trying to start another fight with me. One of them was standing in the street in front of the bar for like 20 minutes, swinging a tree branch around wildly like a bat and calling me a pus*y. Neither of them would come within 5 feet from me though. It was kinda entertaining. After a while I called the cops and they got hauled of to spend the night in jail. A few nights later they came back to appologize to me and begged to be let back in the bar - yeah right. And the one guy still had a huge nasty lump right in the middle of his forehead from the wall.

I bounced last summer at a bar and iv'e been doing security for concerts for some time now. My training definently has helped me in a few situations.

Buergday - That sounds like so many nights I can't even count.... Why do so many jackasses want to fight when they drink?

Memo to youngsters getting ready to be 21 andout on the town...Don't fight, bloddy and in jail is no way to spend the night. If you do fight, don't fight bouncers....yes you could probably kick my ass, but I work with 4 other guys who aren't real keen on seeing me get hit and I know every cop who works the street - you can't win that battle. Drink, chase tail and be careful driving....don't be Johnny Macho - it NEVER works out for you.

I did kickboxing for a while (real matches and everything) back in the day, I have only been in one real street fight my entire life and that was junior year in high school. The clown pulled a cheep shot on my buddy while we were holding him back, that was it, GO TIME...

I guess you could say I'm not one for fighting.

I like to watch chicks fight though, that's fun stuff.
