|
|
| I have a 17 foot I/O OMC drive that needs a new prop. I have no idea what pitch or if I should do 4 blades or what. I would like to stay in the 200 dollar range. I would really appreciate some help guys. |

| Try to find a four blade stainless 17pitch. Worked great for me. With the same engine and about the same size boat. Mine was 18.5 feet. So you'll have an even better hole shot. |

| Can't do stainless too many rocks around here. Anyways looks like the old prop was 19 pitch, but I'm not sure if the right spec prop was on there. |

On my last boat I had a 4 blade quicksilver prop. I bought it off of ebay for about $100 or so. I cannot remember the pitch it was either a 17 or 18. I was very pleased with the prop it worked well for my 4.3 I/O, it held speed like perfect pass. _________________ There'll be two dates on your tombstone/ And all your friends will read 'em/ But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em... |

and what RPMS at WOT are as well. You need to know how close you are running to the max RPM at WOT. If you're not close, you're already running the wrong prop or something else is wrong. JUST-IN-TIME is right- get the RPMs at WOT before you do anything. _________________

I also did the Michigan wheel 4 blade prop. Great improvement for on my 18' four winns. With 1000# ballast and perfectpass it was a pretty good wake boat for an I/O. I wouldnt say the prop works nearly as well as perfect pass does, but it will definitely make driving a bit easier on you. _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)
