I am kind of new to the sport of wakeboarding cuz i have only done it once. My dad just bought a wakeboard boat and i am looking for a good beginner/intermediate board. I am 16 about 6"2 and 175lbs and pretty athletic. Just wondering what size of board, brand of board, and who has the best prices.

any help would be awesome. thanks.

DP23, welcome to wakeboarder.com

The standard answer to your question is demo as many boards as possible and pick the one you like. The reality is, not all of us have pro shops near us that demo wakeboards.

Wakeboards are usually measured in centimeters. There are recommended weight ranges for each length. These are just guidelines though. I weigh about 230 lbs and I currently ride a Liquid Force PS3 141. I rode a Liquid Force Lyman 139 recently and I loved it, even though it is smaller than generally recommended for my weight. So it really is a matter of preference.

For your weight, I'd say any board in the 140 range would be fine, give or take 1-2 cm.

As far as where to buy, here are a few sites to check out.

www.boardstop.com
www.buywake.com
www.the-house.com
www.evogear.com
and of course, www.ebay.com

Hope this helps.

When you go to the "home" page for this forum. On the left hand side there is a "board finder" link...You can put in you height and weight then it will pull up different sizes you can use.

Demoing a board (if possible) is an awsome choice...you can try a board before you spend the cash!
