They just announced that they are going to fully support Exchange thanks to a partnership (gasp!) with Microsoft.

Wow, this changes things completely. Now they just need to drop AT&T and they could possibly take over blackberry in the marketplace. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Alter Ego, JEALOUS!
Even a RIMM employee has to agree that while the iPhone is lacking in very important features right now, the implementation/usability of it is off the charts.
The Exchange compatibility is just the tip of the iceberg. With the SDK, things should start popping up for it all over the place.
You know it, I know it. _________________

If they also made the iPhone available on Verizon, this in coordination with the activesync/exchange thing could make me even switch.
BUT.
The iPhone, as a phone, on AT&T, sounds terrible. I am sorry if you already own one. As a toy - awesome. Browser - best out there. As a phone the thing is a failure. Now if they added something called 'sidetone' (google it) and put it on Verizon... I would be surely on board for iPhone 2.0 and drop kick my Moto Q into a creek. |

Brad, so you know what sidetone is? That small non-delayed percentage of the mic feed going into the ear piece.
Sidetone is a little known thing that actually makes or breaks a phone for me. It makes you feel like you're using a phone and not talking into a brick. The feedback (and feedback is basically the wrong term, but let's go with it) is something along the lines of 5%. Pick up your landline phone and say something - see? On many Motorola phones it is on by default. Same for LG, and for other phones it can occasionally be turned on.
My Moto Q has it and for all its drawbacks, it is the best phone phone, I've used since the Start-Tac. Big words there if you ever were lucky enough to have one. It also means you're old
But again as a fun toy, with the SDK and software plans - both free and paid via the iTunes store, combined with the ActiveSync functionality - iPhone. Yup. Full of win. |
