| when u guys talk about taking your fins off to learn surface tricks and edging more are u more refering to boards with molded fins also?? i have a rythm 134 and it just has center fins so i thought of taking them off to learn edging better but i was thinking without any at all its going to seem mighty loose. so i didn't know if most of the boards u were taking the fins off of were newer style with molded ones on the outside for some stability. |

| You can't take off molded fins, they are part of the board but most molded fins aren't very big anyway. |

njobgen, honestly I think you're better off without the molded fins. It will feel really slippery at first, but once you learn how to edge it will feel fine.
So to answer your question, remove your fins, yes it will feel slippery. But, you will also learn proper technique quicker as well. _________________ wakeboards

what he said and also if you ever wanna ride a cable they'll probably make ya lose the fins too so learning how to ride with out would be nice. On top of that I think the most fun I have when riding is just taking the fins off my slider and seeing how many crazy surface tricks I can come up with. But ya it will feel really slippery. _________________ http://www.learnwake.com/amember/go.php?r=253&i=l1 |

I've ridden a few boards with flat bottoms and no fins and it's difficult. I think it can be a good training device, as in, take off the fins and try to ride like that because it will force you to use your edges properly. But for everyday riding I don't think it's good. If you ride in a little bit of chop like I do it can really throw you off.
On a cable they usually allow small plastic fins which is what I would recommend in the first place. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |
