On wakespace.com they list the LF trip as an inter/adv board. I am planning on buying the trip 142 with domain bindings for a soft feel. When i saw the ability level rating i was doubtful. I am rather new to wake boarding as i am coming over from a few seasons of water skiing. I have been boarding once or twice, and i feel at ease in the water and on it. I know i wont get better unless i have a good board, and i think i can handle the trip. What are you thoughts on my choice?

Trip is awesome, and will deffinately suit you. I might suggest investing in high quality bindings like the LF transits or vantages.

i'd also recommend investing in good bindings. i just got some 07 LF shane closed toes for $200 by searching around online. don't get a beginner board - if you find you love wakeboarding which i'm sure you will, you'll quickly outgrow a beginner board.

I would have to agree with what everyone here has said. I bought a cheap, and I mean cheap (Hydroslide Black Widow) board last year to start wakeboarding with. I bought that in June and rode on it most of the season. I did a demo of the LF Witness with some lower end Hyperlite bindings and WOW what a difference. I bought one online at the beginning of September. We got lucky and had a bit of an indian summer so I got to use it quite a bit. I remember the pro shop recommending the Trip if I didn't want to fork out the $$$ for the Witness. I am pretty much a beginner, too, so it sounds like the board will suit you well. I would agree on the mention of getting good bindings. Since I did the demo with the lower end bindings and bought the upper end (LF Transit) bindings, I got to experience the difference. The more expensive bindings seem to feel a lot better and feel like they give a lot more support.

Bottom line -- Don't spend less money now on something just to get you by. You'll end up just swapping it out later, costing you more money in the long run. I wish I would have gone straight to the good board / binding combo.

Okie Boarder and I share a board. The cheapy board we had at first was what I tried to get up on for the first time. I tried and tried and tried...I couldn't seem to get up on it. We demoed the LF Witness and first try I was up and riding. Then when we bought the board with the good bindings...WOW. I noticed the difference right away. Which I thought was amazing for being a new rider!

Get what will fit you not the first thing you see! Good luck! Wink
