Hey all,

Been a few years since I've been active here. I know in the past I have had a very strong opinion on what I like to see when it comes to wakeboarding, because it's a strong passion of mine. However, I'm not the kind of person that is going to impose my opinions on others, even if I've rubbed you the wrong way on here before, you can ride however you want, after all what I care about most is having fun, and if I might not particularly like somebody's style of riding....it's simply my opinion, why should that have any influence on someone else.
Looking to connect with other Orlando Riders. I occasionally have access to a boat, but mostly am looking for a boat to ride behind. I haven't ridden in a while since I started my own business, but now have some time freedom to enjoy going out on the water, get back into the swing of things and get out and do something I'm passionate about. Just under a year ago when I rode last, I was at what I would say intermediate level, it wouldn't take me but a few runs to get all my tricks back. I could do 3's, a few inverts, 5's, and ride with style (important to me). Would like to ride with people that can push me to a higher riding level, but at the same time, don't mind riding with people that I can push, especially if I'm riding behind somebody else's boat. Can pitch in for gas, food, whatever. Have all my own stuff. I can drive a boat very well, and I have instructed wakeboarding before, so I can probably give pointers if you'd like. Generally I like to come out, ride, watch everybody else ride, and get on with the rest of my day as riding is the passion that can drive everything else in my life. But again, I know I can't choose everything behind somebody else's boat. I have my own business, so I can generally call my own shots when it comes to my schedule.
Like I said, I'm just looking to get out and have fun again, that's it!
Send me a message, let's see what we can create!
Derrick

Vance,

thanks for your response.
Like I said in my previous post, I"m not riding right now, that's why I'm posting here.
Are you open to more riders in your circle of influence?

Vance,

Which part are you confused about?

The part that I haven't been riding in a while, and want to get back out on the water with some other people?

Or the part where I was asking if you were open to more riders in your group?

A friendly suggestion i would clean up your post. It sounds very power trip/ego bound. Which to your defence you try to defend but it is hard to invit riders out who sound like they may be a boat nazi. Again not saying you are but the post is very wordy and strong. Also take time to fill out your profile it will help you out.

Thank you for your helpful insight.
I have a very strong personality, if I come across that way, that is why.
Boat nazi? I hope I didn't send that message, as I hope it was clear when I said, it's someone else's boat, I can't choose everything that happens.
I just stated what I am looking for in a riding experience, I am open to variation in that, but how can I ever get what i am looking for if I don't state it?

Does that clear things up a little better?

Derrick

Some more friendly advice. A nice concise post saying that you are ready to get back into riding, live in Orlando, have money for gas/food/drink, and can drive if needed, would probably have attracted more replies.

Opinions about other riding styles/techniques, "let's see what we can create", "circle of influence", "riding experience", etc. really don't add any value to the thread. I have to agree with Scott, it comes across a bit arrogant and self-centered. I know that wasn't your intent. Don't take my comments personally - like I said, just some advice.
