I know this is somewhat in the wrong forum, but find a pull is pretty dead. To make this post more relevant to "general discussion" though, anyone know where I should go in San Diego to try and find people that wakeboard? Is there a specific part of Mission Bay most people put in where I can just go offer gas money for a pull? I went up to Carlsbad yesterday to check it out and some people put in there. I didnt have my board or else I would have asked them. I have been trying to find the local shops and get their input, but nothing so far has really paid off. There is some Liquid Force demo here in a few weeks, maybe that will have some people I can start dishing out my number to.
Anyway, here is the original post:
Just moved down to San Diego and am looking for pull. Good for gas, cleaning, all that kind of stuff. I only have school Tuesday-Thursdays, so any other day I am always just sitting around. So, if you need an extra person or are willing to take on one more, that'd be rad.
It feels like I just wrote a personal add or something.... "SWM in San Diego looking for person with boat who enjoys glassy water and wakeboarding....."

Have you gone over to Wakeworld.com?
There are much more people from SoCal on that site.
Also if you're attending one of the local colleges, you have access to the MIssion Bay Aquatic center. They have many courses/classes available, some you can take for college credit. _________________
8824, dude - I suck. You were right.
. |

I have not tried WakeWorld, so I will definitely do that. I am going to USD and I believe that Mission Bay only works with UCSD and SDSU, but I will give them a call and make sure. Thank you, I appreciate your input. _________________ "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them"

ben, not true. Aquatic center works with all the local colleges, since that's where they get the financial support.

good luck getting some decent pulls in sd. the people here are cool and they have some of the sickest boats. unfortunately, the places to ride is pretty limited. you're gonna have to travel north to elsinore or canyon lake (if you can get an invite since canyon lake is a private community). you might also shoot for vail lake (another private lake).
again, good luck. i've lived here over a year and lived most of my life in socal, but do most of my riding in norcal (delta) and some at elsinore and canyon lake. _________________ my demo reel

yeah, i went over to wakeworld and put a post up and a dude said I could come ride with them at Elsinore, so it looks like if I want to ride I am gonna be driving a bit. Wakeboard San Diego said they do pulls this time of year for 20 bucks, but the guy that runs it doesnt go out too regularly and usually has a waiting list. Either way, I am from Washington, so riding once every two weeks or so is better than not riding like they are up there this time of year.
Thanks for the recommendations man. _________________ "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them"

You were in the right place at the Carlsbad Lagoon. February 23 is the Freezeride and we will be there. It will be a great opportunity to connect with the wakeboarding community in So Cal. Also the Canyon lake Wakeboard Clubs first event is the second saturday in April. Come out and hang out for the day. You will meet some awesome wakeboarding people. _________________ For God so loved the world, He gave His only Begotten Son, so that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life! | I grew up in Carlsbad. The surf is great, but you might as well go buy an older ski boat to convert because there is not much of a scene and the water is rough almost anywhere. Not only that by the time you buy a house at $650,000 for a nice started there is nothing left unless you just come from money. Even then good luck. Just become a surfdog. |
