Summa the best shoes I owned were Hawks, but only 1 specific model (the Pegasus), which have unfortunately been discontinued.
Lately I've been wearing the Globe RMS3's, but they're kinda flimsy & not real good skate shoes. But they have a good look to 'em so if you barely skate & want people to compliment your cool lookin' shoes then pick 'em up. Meanwhile, I continue to hunt for a solid shoe.... |

I have the RMS's as well. I like a ligh weight shoe that is not too bulky, so they work great for me. I also just tried a pair of circa jamie thmoas 801. They are great, real strong, and lots of cushion. I think I am going to get another pair of the circa's. I also like the chet thomas globes w/ the sock liner in them. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. Wow I didn't expect Globes to come out ahead.... I have has a pair and know a lot of skaters who have had pairs and..... they suck. They are surf shoes, way too flimsy and fall to bits easy. just my opinion though
DVS, in my opinion, kick friggin arse. they are a bit expensive, but every pair I have had (3 so far) have lasted at least a year of extensive use, as opposed to my globes, which put in a measly 3 months before the sole fell off, and the toes busted out.
Oh yeah, Alan, why didn't you vote 'converse' for your chuck taylors? they make the all star....... _________________ Terminate high thinking |

I wouldn't say Globe is a surf shoe per se, I mean the reason I picked up the RMS is 'cuz I figured Rodney of all people would have a solid shoe. But I didn't count on the fact that he wouldn't care how durable they are since he gets 'em for free anyways.
But I agree, they're pretty flimsy & I could do with a better shoe. |

When I skate in shoes I skate pretty hard, so I don't expect shoes to last for a year. I just buy shoes that are comfortable and will hold up decently. On my Globes I tend to use a lot of shoe-goo, but hey, whatever makes them last...
I've found that Osiris soles wear out REALLY quickly... I really wanna try the Getz DVS shoes... those look sick... |

Maestro: Shoe Goo is my god!
I lather that stuff everywhere. Over the toes, on the ollie pad, and tape around the outside of the sole, building a wall, then fill that up with glue to cover the holes in the sole. I skated my globes with a hole in the sole I could literaly put my hand through. Only the insert stopped my feet from getting cut up Ahhhh the poor college student days.
Get some DVS, you won't be dissapointed. i have had the Daewon II's (best shoe i ever owned), berras, (very nice looking in light gray with red accents, also a strong shoe) and now I have the Milans, i'm thinking of getting another pair as well, but they are hard to find where i live. _________________ Terminate high thinking |

I don't expect shoes to last forever. I just like the fit of globes. I like the ct4 cause I don't have to have them tight to skate in, I like shoes with alot of tounge, just more comfy to me. it's all preference, I used to skate with a guy that removed the inserts for more comfort _________________ http://www.integrity-wake.com

yeh cm, you forgot adios, they really aren't a great shoe for skating, and they dont fit my foot as well as they used too so i hardly wear them, not impressed with em. but they're not too bad.

Yeah i couldn't fit Adios or lakai, also E's/Emericas/Etnies (all the same company) were seperate before, but you can only have a limited number of options. Sorry guys. i had to delete Duffs so i could put 'other'. _________________ Terminate high thinking |

I had some airwalks about 5 years ago, they were nice looking shoes, and as light as hell, but they had no support and no shock protection on the sole. I ended up using them for wakeskateing shoes. I liked them as a shoe, but not for skateing. _________________ Terminate high thinking |

DC's are way out in front at the moment!
They must be big in America. They were pretty popular in Aus in the mid 90's, but I dpn't think anyone wears them much here anymore. _________________ Terminate high thinking |

Furtive: I did have Orisis in there previously... but somehow it changed to duffs (see how duffs is there twice?) I don't want to fudge the whole poll now so I'm not going to edit it. You can see I edited it once before and that sort of threw it off. _________________ Terminate high thinking |
