Hey im new to this sport I was an avid skateboarder and snowboarder. I just bought a 07 moomba outback and a gatorboard wake board. Did I make good dicision on board and boat setup? and is there any similarities to snowboarding? I was wondering if it would be easier for me ? also any tips or advice would be helpful. |

More info on the board and your size would be helpful. Not familiar with the gatorboard myself, but I'm sure someone on here will be.
Snowboarding- should be a nice crossover. You will be familiar with the feel of edging and having some weight on your front foot. A lot easier transition than if you were coming from a slalom water skiing background. I know from experience: I learned to slalom ski, wakeboard, and snowboard in that order. Wish I had wakeboarded or snowboarded first.
Read through the newbie questions forum as much as you can. Lots of good info in there that you can get at your own pace without repeating the same questions that have already been asked and answered. _________________

Some how asking the boat question now? ? Im not sure what kind of return policy you got on that but it is a nice boat that is well rounded out. You can fit friends and family in it and also get a substantial wake that isn't to big for a beginner, then you can get fatsacks if there is no ballast.
Not sure about the board tho.
If you don't mind me askin, how much did you pay for the boat Im in the market for a new one. _________________
nessie is my homeboy so its all gravy
|

| I had to wait for my account to activate so i was looking at the site reading all the posts all weekend. I went out on sunday the water was to cold to try wakeboarding my first time without a dry suit. My board has liquid force bindings? The board itself i found online for 300 and i got the board and bindings for 300. The boat is awesome it has a ballast system under the backseat not sure the weight though. The boat was 33 k its a 07 the last one they had. oh yea plus tax title ect and i added boardracks to the tower. So do you guys think its a good setup for a beginner? or should i have gotton a hyperlite board like i wanted? |

You will like the Outback. That was my first inboard boat. I ride gator boards and bindings as well..Not sure which board you got but im sure that it will serve the purpose..the sac under the back seat is prob about 250 but it may be that they have upgraded them to the 400 lb someone else may know that one. If you need some more weight fill up the storage under the back sun deck. Lead or sacks of rocks (i used lead in mine) and balanced the front out with the rocks under the seats in the bow. It had all the wake i needed to learn the sport with..for that matter it would probably still be big enough..
Congrats on the new boat and setup Good choices. _________________ www.wakeboardoklahoma.com
