My throttle handle has stripped out on the inside where it attaches to the gear on the side wall on my 02 SSV. I called the local Supra dealership thinking it would be a simple part they had and you just replace the stripped out one. They said they dont have just the part or even a new throttle handle and that I have to replace the whole unit which is $300. Does anybody have any other advise as to an easier way of fixing this?

thanks

how about a 2-part epoxy?

might work, or if they are both metal, maybe a small weld. would be a permanent fix. just have to plan on replacing the part if you need to work down the road.

only downside would be if either part failed on the lake.. sometimes buying the new part is the best option...

I would try an auto machine shop before giving up though...

CaM2816, is it a Morse unit or is it made by supra themselves? You might try contacting Supra directly to see if they can help you out.

Epoxying a part like that is definitely not a good idea.

I don't disagree. offering up some ideas for someone that looks to be on the cheap. personally, with a 40k ski boat, I would spend the 3bills for the right part new.
