I can do backrolls consistently and am coming close on tantrums. What should I work on next? 360? TS FR? Back R2R?

TOESIDE anything!!!! Exclamation ....just trying to make a point Very Happy
Balance yourself out. A frontroll is gonna be hard though. I'd try a ts backroll, a scarecrow or a ts 3.

Do you have a solid method? I was told at Gordy Bubolz camp that if you can't method you should not be upside down. So, if you cant method get workin. Very Happy

michigan boarder, Agreed..

Trust me man, I learned like 3 inverts before I ever could even go TS w2w. Deffinetly get the TS going. I suggest a TS FR or TS BR. I feel like I held myself back so much by not learning more ts earlier

It is a must to learn toeside and heelside at the same time if you want any chance at going pro or competeing. Think about it, toeside is 50% of boat riding.

If you aren't getting pop try holding your edge longer and cutting out farther. Once you get the hang out it you shouldn't have to cut out far at all to clear the wake. I really wouldn't go upside down if your toeside edge isn't solid. I would try a 3 if you want a good toeside trick.

It depends on what your goals are for wakeboarding. Some people are happy being heelside heroes.

Personally I try to be a balanced rider. Hellside, toeside, invert, spin, switch. The more you work on being balanced, the easier the next set of tricks come (mobes).

Get all your 180s solid. TS, HS, Switch TS, Switch HS, FS and BS on all 4, for 8 total. Grab those suckers and you'll have rock solid fundamentals. You'll learn quick if you can get all of those.

ohdoor, i'd suggest the ts roll to revert. it's actually fairly simple, you just have to commit to it. this was my first toeside invert and it was pretty easy to learn...about 2 sets until i landed it i believe. search around the trick tips forum (make sure to use the search button) and you should find some good tips on it. good luck.

i have a toe back and a heel back, which is easier to take to revert im nervous on both, ive gone to revert on accident on the heel some times if i hold on with both hands and those never turn out good

OuachitaWaker, they are both really simple. i find the heelside r2r to be a lot easier of a rotation than the toe. i always feel like i sorta "huck" the toe, but with the heel, you just throw it right off the wake and it comes right around. to me, it's easier than just a backroll. just open your chest more to the boat, hold on with both hands and let the board come around 180. it'll take a few tries, but it's really simple. with the toe, same thing. open your chest more to the boat right off the wake, keep the handle in both hands, and just let it come around.

when you say "those never turn out good," you just need to trust your judgement. do some w2w 180's and get comfortable with landing switch and riding away. once you do the r2r, just spot your landing (this can be done very early) and don't hesitate or doubt yourself. don't half ass it and you'll be fine Very Happy

ya im just gonna try to do some fs1's, little poppy 1's just going w2w, and then throw a few poppy backrolls, and then ive heard to just let go after about half rotation with my front hand, i might just committ holding on with both since its already happened a few times

OuachitaWaker, actually, now thinking about it, letting go with the lead hand halfway through isn't a bad idea at all. don't really think about letting go...focus on the trick. you should naturally let go so your lead hand won't be stretched across your chest.
