So Ive narrowed the boards down to four. I want a board that edges nicely, and pops big. I dont want it to kill my knees in the flats, and I dont want it to be so locked in that I cant do surfice tricks. I currently have a 135 State, and Its OK, I removed the center fins, and the edging is a little too weak, and the pop isnt enough. So my four boards are

1-08 Pulse (3ds)

2-08 PS3

3-Ronix IBEX

4-08 AXIS

I hear the 3ds is extremely sticky and tough to break loose.

But I don't have any problems breaking my ps3 loose.

rode the axis all last year and didnt have any problems with it. landed soft imo for someone landing out in the flats most of the time. pop is pretty good i liked it. and it tracked well i though the fins caugt when it needed to but never had any problems breaking loose it actually seemed loose for having 4 fins.

I ride a 141 PS3 and my buddy rides a 139 Axis. I rode his board and loved it. It definitely locks an edge more tightly than the PS3 but still broke loose easily enough (no center fins on either of our boards). I'd be happy with either of those boards.

I deffinetly say go with the PS3, I rode seven different boards last year, and the ps3 is where I finally settled. Very consistant.. I feel like I improved on it alot. cant go wrong with the 3

--cresko--, The Pulse is an awesome board and in 08 comes with .7 fins vs the 1.1 fins in 2007. it does however have a little less pop than the state.
If you have a place where you can demo I would try the Tribute or even the Murray.

Go for the Ps3. Even though on an earlier post we have established that ronix boards will let you land that elsive 1080. Wink

I rode the Ronix Ibex late last season it is a smooth riding board. But the board looks like it will delaminate within a year...IMO not worth the $$, however, there was a certificate in the box to land 1 1080 of your choice...

I vote the pulse, rode it for the last two years(3ds) and I've loved it.
I agree with SeaLyon, try out the Tribute or Murray if you can. I've only heard great things about both those boards.

I know it is not on your list, but you may want to consider a slingshot. I finally broke down and bought one and I love it. Very easy on your knees when going to the flats. I have a partially torn acl and this board lets me go to the flats pain free.
