i am consistent on whirlybirds and have been doing them for bout 2 seasons now....i was wondering how hard it is to take it to a whirly 5? i tried one a few days ago and ended up catching my back edge pretty bad but from the way it felt i think i could possibly do it if i get a little more pop. i was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to pull this off

Whirly 5's really aren't that bad. The key, as with most advanced tricks, is getting it straight in you mind. Also, I don't normally preach the trampoline, but it will really help you on this trick and save you a few bumps on the noggin.

Two prerequisites I would strongly reccomend are:

Consistant Tantrums to blind

Whirly birds with a little drop at the end. (You really need to have whirlybirds with a lot of energy up and down--not out)

Start by slowing the boat speed 1 to .5 mph and bring your line in a link. This will steepen up the wake a bit, let you sit a little deeper while you edge and ease up the falls.

Next, throw a few whirlybirds standing tall with a lot of height and not too much speed. When you can throw your whirlybird with a foot or two of spare air at the end and only wake-to-wake-- you are ready.

It is as simple as throwing a tall whirlybird and, in the extra space you created by going up, pushing the handle to blind. I spot my landing between the whirlybird and the push to blind.

Okay, I may have made it sound too simple, but it is. There is a lot going on in this trick. Don't get distracted. Concentrate on two things: a tall whirlybird and waiting to go to blind.

***Don't try this trick if your whirlybirds are not one smooth motion.***

If you can do tantrums to blind and smooth whirlies this one should be no problem.

Good Luck.

basically in my experience if you go out past the wake your going to have a pretty brutal landing. the key is keeping it wake to wake and getting that second hand on the handle or passing it upon landing. also try looking towards the shoreline when landing with slightly more weight on your ts edge.

Bro thats a pretty sweet attempt man won't be long before youll get it the idea is there. Like it's been said above you really want to go wake to wake on this trick, land in the trough at your perial. You already have loads of upward pop to go to 5. The Only other thing is wait when going to blind you going quite early which is stopping the flip side of the rotation causing you to drop onto your heels. You'll Stick it don't let the cold bother go stomp it

Craig-R that is some crappy footage but it looks like you landing really heavy on your front foot and going over the front, also if you look and pause it towards the end of second 2 your arm is way out, try to keep the handle closer to your body throughout the entire trick.
none the less your close good luck.

we got a new boat so i think we should just go into marine stadium and take our chances with getting a ticket. they'll usually just throw you out but the two guys i work with are pussies and won't go in there it pisses me off. i only get to go in there and get good water when david-d is in town

well that sucks because that looked like the best place for good water, everything else seems too open with alot of other boats.

Cwakeboarder19, when you go to blind really try to put the handle on your lower back or butt. It will help you get over your toes. Take a shorter edge in too. You're close!
