Man I suck at Flash and Photoshop

Is there a GOOD place to learn about how to do this stuff? Photoshop I am really getting the hang of, but Flash player is a bitch. Or at least I am making it that way.

Any good sites with good tutorials? The Adobe one sucks.

To learn flash I bought a book at the store. They're usually $10-20 for the beginner ones.

Other than that I search google for a tutorial based on what I am trying to accomplish. What are you working on? Flash is really deep and can take a while to learn.

Basics first, then trying to get more advanced. Nothing in particular, I just know that in my field it will help to be knowledgeable about Flash and the workings regarding it. Just trying to keep up with the technological freight train, and not get run over by it. Mr. Green

what wakebrad said, the easiest way is to keep following tutorials on the web to explore the programs capabilities and buying a book is the best way to go. I've done that for adobe after effects and dreamweaver.

Adobe used to have pretty good tutorials along with their video products like premiere and after effects, I'm surprised Flash doesn't have this. I haven't checked the newer versions, but when it was owned by macromedia they had decent tutorials on basic tweening, animation, timelines, buttons, actions etc.

Flash is not super hard to learn, but it is pretty deep when you get into larger movies and actionscripting. You can probably pick up an older tutorial book and a lot of the same basic principles will apply (timeline/library/objects) because it is generally the same basic features, the newer versions just have a little different layout.

I'm taking a photoshop class at my local junior college and it is 40 bucks per semester to work on brand new iMac's with CS3 and get taught all of what you need to be pretty good at photoshop. Pretty good deal.

I'm learning photoshop as well. I've been downloading FREE podcast videos from iTunes. Search Itunes podcasts for Photoshop Killer Tips and Understanding Adobe Photoshop. I've learned a ton watching these free vids.
