| Ok so I got my new computer, but I didn't go over the top with the CPU, I just got the intel core 2 quad. It is 2.40 GHz. What I have learned, is that I can make it over to 3.0 GHz without overheating and damaging my system(since I have a good heatsync), and that I change my vcore(voltage) to 1.31. But I can find the FSB option to change it to 333. All I can find is FSB frequency(QDR) which is stock at 1066. Underneath that is the Freqeuncy again but this time DDR which is at 800. So I am trying to get at 3.0 GHz, I have found the vcore. I want to do this for future use and to learn something new. So anyone have any ideas? Thanks. |

What motherboard are you running?
The bios options are dependent on the motherboard or more specifically the bios version you're running. I've always found the forums at overclockers.com and pcper.com very useful. There's probably a lot more info than you need over there, but you should be able to sort through it pretty easily.
I could be mistaken, but I think changing the qdr from 1066 to 1333 will give you a fsb of 333. I haven't done any overclocking in a while, but when I did I remember mostly being limited by ram. |
