http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=223243
It is a 9 page thread (don't waste your time) - but no concrete info yet which is typical of this message board. It is about the CES tradeshow happening next week. Most people who are venturing guesses - are guessing that Gates will announce an Elite Xbox 360 with a built-in HDDVD player.
Which will piss me off to no end... also it would not surprise me one bit since I just got the external HDDVD drive for the Xbox 360 .
So if you guys were to venture a guess... what would it be? |

Erik, christ. I just bought an Xbox 360. I am so behind the technology train.
But the Elite xbox 360 has a 120Gb hard drive, and probably will have the HDDVD in with it. |

Ehhh....when the big N announces an internal HD-DVD, I'll be pissed.....it will take 6 years to find one in a store.
I did hear N may announce full title DS downloads for the Wii soon. _________________ Steal My Book

Haugy - yes that is the current rumor. A new version of the Elite - 320GB drive, HDMI/1080p out, Falcon chipset, and internal HDDVD drive.
J-Ro, that isn't so much a rumor as a statement of what they could do is they wanted to. Nintendo USA President Reggie Fils-Aime said that the Wii "could" handle downloads of full DS games. Could isn't will and Nintendo normally takes an age to get these things off the ground. |

I've heard rumors of internal wifi, internal hd dvd, and iptv. 320gb seems like overkill unless they add the ability to record shows from iptv.
When is the big announcement? |

JRW160, IPTV is still not set in stone yet because the service isn't really there and IPTV means about 34 things depending on who you ask. I also just got good word that Microsoft has NO PLANS to put an internal HDDVD drive in any Xbox 360 SKU/version. So a correction to my previous post.
I expect the rest of what you mentioned to be announced at CES. 320GB drive - yes. Wifi - yes. HDMI out - yes. HDDVD Internal - Signs point to no. Color - black. Name - Ultimate. Price - heftx0rz. |

Gates keynote was last night. I don't think he announced anything but IPTV for the 360. I haven't had time to look into it much, but that's what I've heard.
Isn't hdmi out already standard?
They've said before that internal hd-dvd would never happen. I don't see it as that big of a deal. |

| Falcon is the inherently cooler running 65nm chipset. They have a different heatsink without the heatpipe. They're rumored to not be as prone to the red ring of death, but who knows. Falcon 360's started appearing a few months ago in the halo 3 special edition, and I think the chipset has made it way throughout the ranks of the consoles by now. |
