A good friend of mine I go wakeboarding and hunting with was diagnosed with colon cancer he is 31. They did a biopsy this week and found out that they will have do do major surgery, currently he is at MD Anderson. His name is Ric if you don't mind say a prayer for him and his family.

Thanks

Jason

vette74, bummer man!

Hopefully the mix of chemo and what I would guess is a resectioning surgery will hook him up.

The alternatives (complete colon-ectomy) sound bad, but honestly they aren't as bad as they sound.

Best of luck, tell him to keep his head up!

Done. Houston doesn't have many selling points, but cancer treatment is definitely one of them. If it can be fixed, the fellas at MD Anderson can fix it. Best wishes to your friend.

Let this be a time to for everyone to think about your family history ( mother, father, sister, brothers- 1st generation family) and that some of you may need to have a colonoscopy done before the age of 50.

vette74, Done.

Update.
Good news he had surgery last Thursday and has been released from the hospital. The doc's said they did not have to remove as much as they had thought and he is able to keep most of his colon. I went to visit him when he was in the hospital and his spirits are high he is also talking about trying to make the last weekend of quail season. But he is waiting to find out his radiation schedule.

Thanks again.
