|
|
| Guys, my bro-in-law is currently looking at a 2000 Mastercraft X-Star. They want 25,000 for it. Anybody have any positive/negative comments about the boat? We have never ridden behind one, and of course we will trial it before a purchase goes down, Id still liketo hear any feedback. Thanks a lot guys. |

Tough to tell you what is a good deal on a boat when we only know the name & price......
You could argue that boat(hull) is best in the business for a 4-5 wake crew. |

| Thanks for the info...the boat has 350 fresh water hours on it..he is concerned about filling up the ballast tanks with saltwater, and about 1/4 of our wakeboarding comes on a river that is high in salinity...is this a valid concern, or have yall been fine in a little bit of salt? |

Salt water isn't going to be hard on the tanks really. Be sure to flush the engine thoroughly after every salt water outing though. _________________ wakeboards

Price might be ok depending on condition and options. There is a nice 2000 prostar 195 "direct drive" for alot cheaper. Owner will let it go for best offer. |

The wake on the Xstar will be much nicer than the prostar 195. _________________ stay clean, like me

PimpinD2, seconded. Totally different beasts.
jhmorgan, There's no way anyone can comment much further without knowing the condition of the boat - how's the carpet/upholstery/engine condition? Whats the history of repair? Any major parts been replaced in the past? etc.. etc.. No two boats are the same but certainly as a starting point the X star hull (x1, old X2, 205V etc) is a great base - and still one of the best wakeboarding hulls money can buy. If the engine is in good order, the hull/deck is solid and the interior is in good shape it sounds like it could be a good buy.
There's my 2 cents _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Begins rant
jonny19, please work on intelligent, constructive answers. All you know is it's a 200o X star for 25k. it might have a cracked block, shot interior, no trailer, have been written off by an insurance agency for all you know. This is like the 3rd terrible response I've seen by you now in under 5 minutes.
