|

so I use PPro 1.5 to do my editing.. we are messing with the idea of getting a HD cam.. I am curious if I need some special software to edit HD video or if regular stuff will work.. Also, what about putting it on DVD, I see that MYDVD says you can edit and burn with HD, which makes me think that I have to have some special software.. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks _________________ www.blackwaterrydas.com |

You're not going to be able to burn HD. HD DVD players are still hundreds of dollars. An HD DVD burner has to be thousands.
As far as editing HD, I'm not sure. I've looked into getting an HD HDD camcorder but haven't gone that far. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Wakebrad, Uhm. you can get a blu ray burner for around $500 if not less now.
flyhigh, I film with a Canon XH A1, and we just shot a dancers performance in HD. I edit in Premiere Pro CS3, but if 1.5 supports HDV you should be fine. Once you are done editing your footage, all you need to do is export as HD Mpeg2, mind you its rather large (6 - 7gigs for under 1 hour of footage). With such a file you can burn it to a blu ray disc (assuming you have the burner like we do) or downconvert to a regular dvd (it will still look good, but not as good.)
Hope that helped. _________________ stay clean, like me

I just did a quick price check and found a blue ray burner for under $500. I can't believe that since the players are still so expensive. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |
