|
|
I can do wake to wake jumps but when I start to do about 4-5 in a row my rear knee is starting to kill me.
What could I be doing wrong? I know I try to lean back a hair so it dont catch a front edge and faceplant....
What is the proper way to land a big air jump? |

If your back knee is hurting you are probably leaning too far back. Landing in the middle of the board gives you the most support and the softest landings. It just takes practice on landing in the middle of the board and being comfortable that you won't catch your front edge. Just make sure to bend your knees to absorb the impact.
To get softer landings look into newer boards that have spines. The LF Watson, LF Shane, CWB Marius, etc. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

I don't think so.
If you watch the video at the bottom of this page it explains it.

BSBell, The imperial has a spine, but it's a shitty board. The era and pulse do as well, and are much more proven shapes. The b-side doesn't have a center spine, but contouring under the boots towards the tip/tail, which is supposed to soften landings as well, because you don't always land centered over the belly of the board. But if you really want to land softer, make a conscious effort to land with the board still on edge. This lets you keep traveling across the surface of the water, rather than just dropping straight down on it, and really makes landings much easier on the bottom. _________________
