Active Mailorder & Monsterskate both have GREAT deals sometimes (especially Active). They both ship pretty fast & have really good customer service.

Basically, since you're restrained by cost you're gonna hafta choose from what's on sale or in your price range. I can tell you that the Globe RMS 3's fall apart really fast. Hawk Pegasus shoes last FOREVER, too bad they're not in production anymore.

Good luck, chica!

Savier has the Shermans for $55 suggested retail, I got them for $45 at Boardsports here in Eugene. They are in Monsterskate mailorder too.

No fancy bells and whistles, just a durable, simple design with good lace protection. They took almost no time to break in, probably because of the simple midsole design. I've had them for 2 months of good skating and the soles are just now starting to wear a bit and the toe areas are hardly scuffed up. Five stars.

Hey girl, those are all decent shoes. The one thing I might say is that in my experience shoes that have suede outer sole come apart faster than shoes with leather outer sole. The DVS has suede.

Also, stitching around the ollie area comes undone really quickly so I'd maybe advise you to steer clear of the DC's 'cuz the stitching dips low into the ollie area.

Obviously, whether you choose white or black is entirely up to you.

Lace protection is always real nice, so that might put another strike against the DVS's. The only shoes I'd say are 100% solid are the circa Lopez's, I've heard lots of good stuff about those, and they're the only ones out of all four shoes that have (hidden) lace protection. Buying new laces every 2 weeks sucks.

Vans have some good shoes for cheap.

el, Most of the Circa's have good lace protection. My little bro has had some 703's and Thomas's. He has loved 'em.

Yeah, I never said they didn't have lace protection. I had the first Jamie Thomas models a couple years ago, they were great.

Erm.... both my current DVS are leather, but I would have to say that my oldest pair of DVS (the Daewons) lasted a full year of DAILY skating, for at least 2 hours a day, with minimal impact, and they were double density suede. Best shoes I ever had, plus I used to longboard in them a lot as well and when you put your foot down to slow yourself at the end of a run, that just rapes most soles.

Lace protection is good, and most DVS offer both systems, but most shoes these days are shaped so that the laces down get too badly damaged even if you use the outter holes. I have only ever had to replace my laces on 2 pairs of DVS (each pair having a life of 1 year), and most DVS come with 2 sets of laces.

Ok, so I'm a DVS whore, I don't mind Very Happy to me they make the toughest shoes around, and they don't muck around with gimmicks like a lot of companys these days do.

DRAGON88, I go to Churchill Highschool, so I skate the park practically every day during the school year. I also like to skate Bethel and all the other parks around Eugene, so I'm sure we've seen each other at one point or another.

Holy crap Richard, I had no idea you wakeboarded. I'll email you my number and we can hit the lake sometime soon. That's crazy.

You gotta bring another shopping cart to the skatepark next year!

Yes, it is elTRAiN, new and improved. I made quite a few people mad under my last name, so I figured if I shortened it, nobody would notice. I'm not the walrus anymore either.

That's nothing. We got a plastic one and shattered it and slid around on the pieces when it was raining. So fun.
