| How? Surely you create too much slack in the cut to give you any tension to pull back against? |

shakeywakey, you don't need to take long, hard cut like you do behind the boat. Take a much mellower cut at it, and right befor you hit it, really lean on the line, almost as if you were doing an air trick. If you take a long, aggressive cut, you're absolutely right, all you line tension will disappear and you won't be able to pull it back under. _________________

I'm pretty sure he means lean back
instead of just edging harder, kinda put your butt towards the water |

| i'm having problems with doing a raley off the kicker, i am able to land it everytime but i lose tension on the line once i land... is the solution to this taking a mellower cut rather than a long cut? |

wakeywakey, exactly. you dont' really need a lot of speed off the kicker like you would off the wake, you just need loads of tension at the last point of you cut, so the tension snaps your board out and up, and you just push down on the handle and pull it back under. Kicker raleys are way easier to shift and grab than off-the-wake raleys. _________________

| you don't need a long cut but you def can take one if you want to take it really big...the only time i found you can't ride it out because of too much slack on the landing is when you land tail heavy otherwise when i throw em off the kickers at tsr, i usually cut out the opposite side so i can make a very aggressive long cut |
