dizzlestoy,
Yeah, around here, you have about the same everywhere you go, a lot of tree's along the bank. Maybe some weeds coming out of the water right off the bank.

I don't think so. There's no ripples around him from struggling to get standing with a board attatched to his feet, plus, he's dry.

As for the pic of two guys wearing suits - if they are exchanging vows, that's something I really REALLY do NOT want to know about Razz

wakebored,
Where are you at now days?

From what i've seen, both wheeler and guntersville are that way, as well as wilson.

I guess you could have the industrial places in decatur, but still. Nothing great.

Smith would be the only place i have been that's actually really nice, but the water is down a lot this year. I've never been to Tim's, so i dunno how it is.

H20orSnowLetsGo, definitely not. how would you get the reflection of the bottom of the board in ps?

LakeIolaLuke, I've seen that picture on facebook somewhere too. I guess it'll be a mystery if it is a photoshopped pic or not. it's been posted in the photo section of wakeboarder.com also.

H20orSnowLetsGo, yes, but the reflection is not a mirror image of the guy. It's a different angle. Definitely not ps

LakeIolaLuke, they could've dropped him off there out of the boat and then let the water settle. And yes, it could be done in photoshop too... you can add the reflection and then just a ripple effect. Not easy, but very do-able.

He must be standing on a rock, look how shallow the water is around him so it could be very possible for a big rock to be there.

The reflection would have had to be from another photo taken from another angle though, right? It's not that I don't understand how they got the shot, I just think it's a cool enough photo to have some commentary from the experts at wb.com

Too much talk over something that was figured out a couple years ago. This is the comment by the guy in the photo.

Lonny wrote:
Okay Guys... This picture is causing waaay too much contraversy lol. The Pic isnt photoshopped, I didnt jump off of anything and pose in mid-air. I'm just standing on a deadhead (stump underwater) that is exposed about an inch above the water level. The deadhead is under my board, so you can't see it, and the rest underwater you can't see due to my reflection. I fell off that log a few times trying to take the pic, it was hard to stand long enough for the ripples to go away but I thought it turned out a pretty cool photo. Thanks to everyone for noticin haha.

p.s. PURELIQUID - the stump was photoshopped in the other picture (the one on my profile at wakeworld.com) but not this one.

The pic from Japan...

This lake is on the main island of HONSHU (island Tokyo's on), up North in the AOMORI prefecture.

I only ever see one or two boats, mostly it is Japanese using PWC's (like myself). It is a big lake. Most days it is like butter, but should the wind pick up, it becomes whitecapped.

The water temp is cold until the end of July...then will be nice until it gets and stays cold around here maybe Oct/Nov.

and hows the wakeboarding scene in Japan?
I'm not sure but I heard a cable park was going to be built somewhere in Japan? Do you know if that is true?

Where I am...wakeboarding is Japan is pretty nonexistant. I am way North. Now, maybe it is different down near Tokyo-where most of the population resides. The handful of Japanese I have seen ride pretty much simply carve, like they are on a slalom ski. There is ONE guy who is pretty decent on the wakeskate. But we'll get them cheering with simple 180's or surface 360's...its quite a hoot!

I have seen two Yamaha boats-they seat maybe 4 and have a wake tower. But, I still haven't seen anyone doing ANYTHING behind them? It is baffling!

During the holiday, it was just really busy with pwc's and one boat?

We were out the other day and my buddy pulled some wacky 360, half air, half surface and a couple of the Japanese with a lake house called us over. They have a rail and some park stuff set-up in front. They told us we were welcome to use their rails. My buddy was gonna attempt it-but we're new to rails and it didn't work. Me-I won't touch a rail (have a brand new WATSON set-up).

But, we thought it was cool, they invited us over.

Haven't heard anything on a cable park...will try some searches and see what I can find. What were you reading/hearing about it.

Oh, final thing...wouldn't surprise me if they put it near Tokyo. They already have this enclosed SKI HILL where you can enjoy wintersports year round-UNBELIEVABLE! They also have an indoor waterpark near here. Would probably be something inside-they are big on that.

Japan rocks! Wish I could have a boat though. But they are SUPEREXPENSIVE and I need an EXPENSIVE license.

Sorry so long...

actionmama, I don't recall where I read about the cable park. some sort of wakebording site though.
and that sucks not having a real boat, it makes a HUGE difference. you should ask those people with the boats for a pull
And I also heard about those indoor ski hills Laughing sounds like fun

QuachitaWaker, only 3 months Evil or Very Mad
I actually took that picture in March when the lake is pretty much deserted. but in the summer the lake is always butter in the mornings.
