I rode on Monday and Wednesday this week.
Today was one of those perfect buttery days....
I attempted my first invert this week, a HS backroll. After roughly 8 or 9 tries, I managed to actually rotate all the way around and land board-first. Of course, the rest of me immediately hit the water as well but I'm getting close. Its coming... That was also the closest yet I've been to coming out of my CT Shanes. I didn't come completely out, but I had to loosen the laces to get my heel back in.
On a more encouraging note, today I landed my first BS ollie 180....twice. This was my first mid-air handle pass and, damn, it felt good!
I realize that these tricks are real basic in the grand scheme, but those of you who still remember what it felt like for the first time can maybe relate.

HHI Dave, totally awesome. On top of feeling awesome for landing something for the first time, you can also begin to see it opening up more doors to doing other tricks. Congrats yo! _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |

HHI Dave, I still remember....
For me it was the HS BS 180 - I kept at it, one after another until it just happened.
Landing that first one a few years ago seems like yesterday...
Keep at it! many more tricks for you to master so you can obtain that "Like New" feeling again. _________________ PEACE

| Good job Dave. Hardest part of learning new tricks is getting up the nad to try them. Once you've done it several times and get over the fear, you'll have it in no time. |
