i now there is already a topic on line length but i want to see what boat speed and weight you are using too, i just got like 1000 lbs in my boat and am thinking about letting the rope out more and going a little faster. im also unsure whether or not to by line extenxions my rope is only70 plus handle.

i ride at 70 and at about 23.....i like to go a little faster so i can edge better, it feels to me that everything is so sluggish riding at slower speeds and it cleans up the wake

I have about 400 lbs in the boat and board @ 55ft. I'm about 10 ft above the washout. I seem to be a lot closer than other people so I'm wondering if this is bad.... _________________ 1989 Supra Comp TS6M, 06 GLI for haulin'.

I ride with 600lbs in the boat and usually about 3-4 people. I usually go about 23-24 mph. My rope length is only set at 60 ft.
I have noticed that a lot of you ride with more rope than that and I know that the pros use long lengths. I have been reluctant to lengthen it because it doesnt seem like its holding me back at all. I think i am gettin as much height out the wake as I am gonna get. Another reason is that I ride behind a 22ft Cobalt and it is wider than a wakeboard boat.
So do you think lengthening the rope would help......or should i stay with the setup that I have now?

WakeRock, I used to ride at 60ft, but then tried at 75ft and liked it a lot better. You should try it and see how it feels, but keep in mind that the ideal rope length also has to do with wake shape and width (you should be as far back as you can without hitting the wash on the wake, and you should only go far enough back that the wake is still thin enough that you can comfortably go wake to wake).

I had issues with this recently and I figured that 23 mph with the sacks full + three people and a wedge I like sixtyfive plus the handle, the wake dosnt seem to pop quite as much if I move farther back.

900-1000 lbs, 2-3 people, 60-65 feet, 22.5 mph.
With more weight I ride at 65. I used to always ride at 65-70 and then I moved it in one day and the wake was much better. It give me a much higher flight path instead of a longer lower path. I don't have to cut as hard, which resuslts in less line tension which results in easier spinning and handle passes. _________________ Ride harder...
