OK, I just got an old Cassette? wakeskate, and am looking for some basic info. How fast (mph) do you typically skate? Same distance from the boat as I board (75') or should I shorten up the rope a bit? Currently I'm learning at 20 mph and 75' of rope. That's a mighty wide wake 75' behind my Tige. Shocked

sambo, I have been riding about 22.5-23 lately. Rope depends on boat, wake etc.

It seems like you are doing all the right stuff. Just mess with speed and length until you find what works.

Cool. Thanks for the support. At least the falls aren't near as harsh as on a wakeboard.

I started riding the boat at 55' at 18-19 mph.

Now I ride 85' at 24 mph.

Start comfortable, don't worry about what people say is "legit", just have fun with it, then work your way up.

it's a linear perspective flat deck from 03. The blue is a 43 and the yellow's a 41. The look fresh in person...

I'm likin the balance too. That cassette looks sexy. Cassettes are starting to thin out with people breaking them. So you also have a collectors item.

Esnow has a butt load o' cassette and other decks alike.

I really like the Balance w/o the center fins. Love the Transit bindings, quite a step up from my old Wiley's Tri-axis! Had an old Trip 138 which I gave to my son when I got the Balance. Would really like to demo the '07 Watson. I've heard it's nice and loose with a little more pop. As far as breaking the Cassette.... I don't think I have to worry about that for a while! Laughing So far, I've managed a surface 180 and about a 1/4" ollie.
