I am going to a cable park on Saturday and I was wondering how to go flying up like that. I know that you have to lean back and hold on but i was wondering if there was anything else you have to do.

hmm didnt look at the video but normally when learning air tricks at the cable people will try a raley or backroll/roll to revert. Timing has alot to do with it, as your entering the turn wait until you get under the tower, as soon as your under the tower start a progressive edge. when you have built up enough line tension you have to flick with your front foot and the cable will automatically pull you off the water. now your going to ask me what a flick is, basically you take your front foot and scoop it backwards away from the cable. everyone has their own personal flick and that is the hardest part to figure out good luck.

umm first time at a cable park...air tricks would be the last thing i would consider learning...just work on being able to hit all the obstacles and landing all the stuff you can do behind the boat off of the kickers...

After my 4th day behind a cable I could finally do an invert off the corner (backroll). I still wasn't getting a ton of height. It seems really tricky to me. Everyone kept talking about waiting to feel the tension and then pop. For me, I never really felt anything different. I would just cut hard on the inside a second after the cable clicked around the corner and then when I had the line loaded I initiated the backroll like I would behind the boat.

One thing you should know is that you can't just get air off the corner, you pretty much have to do an invert (raley or backroll variation for starts). When I first started I was just trying to get air off the corner but it doesn't work like that.

Would you say it is easier or harder to do the inverts that you normally do on a boat off of a kicker? I asked one kid at the park but I wanted to hear other opinions.

Id say its easier behind the boat because the kicker at owc sends you so high and far someimes, the landings can be rough...

Catch This Wake, Some are easier, some are harder. Raley tricks are way easier, cause you never get hung up on a ramp like you would off the wake, so your timing doesn't have to be as dialed. Other are harder because your can't hold your edge up a ramp, because you'll slide out and hit you ass on the ramp. Many tricks are done differently on cable than they are behind the boat, because the pull of the line is at such a different angle. It's just the kinda thing where you get used to one or the other, and if you can make all your tricks carry over from cable to boat and vice versa, you're doing pretty good
