| I finaly took the fins off my board and it made a huge difference. My air improved by 2-3 feet! My first jump i went about 10 feet into the flats and about 5 feet above the wake. Is it normal to improve that much by takeing off the fins? My theory is that I now have proper edgeing. |

Add some stickers, and you'll get another 2-3 feet of Air.. guaranteed. _________________ Alright. It's Saturday night. I have no date, a two liter bottle of Shasta and my all rush mix tape. Let’s rock! |

You sure you were riding behind the same boat?
That's a big of difference for a minor adjustment. I took my fins off and just slipped on my ass. |

I agree, riding finless is the stuff. But a huge improvement? unlikely.. unless like you said.. maybe you were just not riding correctly previously. _________________ Alright. It's Saturday night. I have no date, a two liter bottle of Shasta and my all rush mix tape. Let’s rock! |

| Taking off your fins won't make a difference in height or distance. It might effect how your board releases off the wake a little and how it tracks but if you noticed a difference in height and distance it's because of something else. |

you take the fins off and you must dig in your heels to edge properly, therefor you should get more pop! yes he was not edging properly before, with the fins, he was prob flattening out, so i believe _________________ Live to Ride, ride to live |

| put ronix fins back on, they will give you like 15 ft into the flats & 10 feet above the wake, guaranteed or your money back. |

Epic taking your fins off can improve your air and distance indirectly. Since your fins are no longer there some people cut harder on there edge and there builds more line tension for them and they can have a better release of the wake which could push them higher and farther. _________________ 93 four winns

| My friend took his off, and he was going w2w more than he ever had before and also alil better on air, never really feel on his face either. My Gf is weird and doesnt like closed toe bindings, so she used his board bc he has HL era's, ever time she got ready to cut she fell flat on his face. Took her 3 times in a role of falling on her face before she got back into the boat. I guess what im saying is that it's all personal pref. |

That's what I said. Fins don't add height or distance, so if you are jumping higher or farther it's because of something else (different edging, different boat, different speed, more weight etc.) |

| I've considered getting a Roam, but would rather "try before I buy" to make sure it's a board I love |

When you remove the fins the board should create less drag against the water, thus making it looser, faster and popping off the wake a little bit easier since the fins tends to stick a little bit to the water. But 2-3 feet of air, hardly..
I don't think you could even notice the difference.
So it is probably your technique that has changed when you took the fins off. |

Did he enjoy her falling on his face???
I cut my fins down to an inch or less and I will be getting rid of them soon. I finally started getting some decent air 2-2 1/2 feet so I'm getting there slowly. I keep thinking that the fins are making me point the board at the boat when I land instead of continuing to cut across the wake sometimes.
I did have my best day on the water EVER yesterday though. I have never been on water that smooth and was able to finally begin progressive edging into the wake, getting much more speed and height than before. The worst part is that I'm starting to get spoiled by smooth water and if its choppy I'm not as enthusiastic about riding.
