| I have been looking through boattrader on a regular basis and it seems like Prostar 190's are a dime a dozen. What is the deal with this. |

Mossimo,
The Prostar is a comp ski boat...closed bow mostly....pure salom machine...along comes wakebording and there goes the salom boats downhill in sales....More people into wb means more open bow larger boats for space and comfort, eqiupment, etc. . I here you can weight the prostar a throw a decent wake..but in the long run you need a open bow large boat for all your friends and family and the stuff that comes with them! _________________ " If you are not crashing! There are a ton of MC 190's out there b/c they are an awesome boat from one of the biggest towboat manufacturers and they kept the name for years. When wakeboarding first started people weren't cruising around in xstars, everyone was behind a 190 or 2001 or similar boat. And as shoobies says; they definitely have a fine wake. For everything but the very top top advanced tricks (ex. speedball) if you can't land it off a loaded 190, a 50K vdrive ain't gonna help you land it any better. _________________ Check out https://www.facebook.com/darcizzleoffshore |

Here here Boyz,
You are right ! you don't need 50k boat for a killer wake. But the reason there are so many 190s is because people are moving toward a open bow people carry boat.I love MC, make a great product but if you have a family or friends you need the space in the long run...Gosh by all means cut your teeth on a 190! I wish that I did..Who knows you might become a salom wake junkie _________________ " If you are not crashing! You are not trying!" |

IMO there are a lot of Prostars still out there because they were built to last. The first manufacterer to use no wood in construction= no dry rotted stringers. Solid components= long life. You can do much worse buying a mid 90's boat from alot of other manufacterers than a late 80-mc _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

A dime a dozen? I don't think the $9500 I paid for my '89 PS190 was cheap compared to the other crap I could have bought (Bayliner, etc..). But I guess when you compare it to the price of a new MasterCraft your statement makes a little more sense
