I was just trying to mount my subwoofer in my sub box and i slipped and put a hole in the rubber of the woofer. Anyone have advice for how to fix it? This was of course on the last screw of the subwoofer

wakeboardin2k4, ouch! I think you're pretty much screwed. Any chance of taking it back to the store? They might give you a break on the next sub?

I bought it from a friend. Its a very small hole. I am going to try some silicon and see if that helps. Otherwise, screw it. I will just run the sub until the hole is too big and then get a new one. Its an old sub anyway.

Wakebrad, Really? Even with the expansion and pounding that a subwoofer does? I will give it a shot. Thanks man

I have had a JLw3 with a hole in it about the size of a quarter, and I couldn't tell any difference in the way it sounded and the other one that didn't have a hole. So if you just really don't care about it jus run it with the hole in it like you said until it gets just to big and then upgrade to a new one. Since its an old sub.

If it's small ... silicone will probably do the trick. Leave it and it will likely rip over time.

also if its a bigger size hole, ive used a bike tire patch and crazy glue/ contact cemenet to seal it up and keep it from making the fluttering noise
