Hey, this is kind of pointless, but I'm curious and bored at work. I just started boarding this summer and so I barely ride switch (I ride goofy). Last time I was out my dad pointed out that my left lower back muscle is about twice as big as the right one Shocked, I figure from being used so much while wakeboarding. Has anyone else experienced anything noticeable like this? Maybe one arm way more ripped than the other or something?

Jeff Hayden, my first thought at reading the post topic was someone who is not proficient at riding switch. Practice riding switch more. I started out as a snowboarder so coming from that background, my best advice to you is to keep practicing that switch until it's so comfortable that you can be riding and forget if you're riding regular or switch (I do that all the time). Can you attempt to get a video of yourself riding you-tubed? I could offer more of my 2¢ if so.

You need to be careful as regards back muscles, if one side gets stronger than the other it can be quite easy for your back to pull out of line. My wife waterskis and pulls much harder round bouys 2,4 and 6 than she does round 1,3 and 5 and this has over time put her back out.

On an aside, I don't know if any of you are tennis fans but have you seen Rafael Nadal's arms. His left arm must be about twice the size of his right (he's left handed if you hadn't worked it out).

H20orSnowLetsGo, I'm definitely not proficient at switch. I just recently got the hang of riding normal, so I'm learning switch now. I'm hoping that learning it early enough will make it second nature for me like it is for you.

irish_rider and Rocket, I planned to learn switch anyway but your stories are further motivation...I guess a few bad spills at first are worth a stable back in the long run. I'm glad you posted because I didn't think anything of it, so it's good to know that it can lead to injury.

Zcaithaca, third time I've fallen for that this week Mad!
