Ok. I've watched The Book, read countless forums, etc. I'm still doing something wrong...
I'm standing tall at the wake
handle is low
edging throughout the wake
I THINK IM NOT DOING A PROGRESSIVE EDGE
what do you think?
I got my first w2w a few weeks ago at 75'. That same day i got soem w2w grabs. After that day I couldnt get them anymore so i went down to 70'. I was getting those and sometimes getting close but never consistant.
my buddy recorded me so maybe you guys can help me out some.
heres the vid

You think you're edging through the wake but if you watch closely you'll see that you flatten out completely right before you reach the wake.
This could definitely be attributed to charging the wake rather than gradually building that progressive edge.
Hopefully some of the people with a lot more skillz and experience than I have will chime in soon too. |

Lately I've been struggling with everything I do on a wakeboard, so seek other advice too. A way to focus on edging through the entire wake is to think about trying to show the bottom of your board to the people in the boat. I found that helped keep me from flattening out as much... _________________ Whoever coined the term "Near Beer" was a very poor judge of distance... |

manny34711,
Just keep an edge the whole time, you slowed down half way in. Commit to edging all the way up to the wake and over. |

| The key word is progressive. You need to lean harder as you approach the wake. It looks like you are just along for the ride - not bending knees enought to set and stay on edge, not leaning on edge hard enough as you hit the wake and your timing is off - when you stand tall it is not at the top of the wake. Get down a little lower and lean progressively harder as you approach the wake and work on your timing. Your wake is pretty wide - you may also need to speed the boat up a little bit to clear that wake. Also don't worry about grabs until you clear the wake - just focus on fudamentals and timing. |

| the p. edge is important actually pretty key to it but there are other smaller things that can contribute to it like fore example you spring or jump off the wake was a little early meaning you didn't take advantage of the full hieght of hte wake, other things like the wake may not be big enough.. i hope thats not the case. when you aproach that wake keep on cuting as if you are playing tug of war with the boat if you cut hard enough you do a really easy supreman alot like in a cable park |
