If someone goes undefeated in the B10, you can't keep them out of the MNC game unless you have 2 other undefeateds. You simply can't. It may not be the best conference, but it's good enough that if you handle your business, you get to go to the MNC game.

Sure sure, where they will be promptly manhandled by a better team.

tOSU didn't go undefeated. Anyhow, we were simply saying they were overrated. Way overrated this year and in hindsight, last year as well.

Sorry, I don't know why I had it stuck in my head tOSU was undefeated. I said that to someone else yesterday too.

Disagree about them being "overrated." Someone has to lose that game. They deserved to be there - everyone else had 2 losses aside from Mizzou and KU and they didn't take care of business.

Hawaii should have played last night... they were undefeated!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Green

On a more serious note.
My hat's off to LSU... they recovered quickly from tOSU quick start and professionally kicked tOSU arses.

jt09, just because they are overrated doesn't mean that they didn't deserve to be there.

They were the obvious choice. LSU was the choice that had people asking questions.

Either way, the two best teams in the country post-bowl game, are once again LSU and USC. IMHO anyway.

Georgia put on a display against UH, but from seeing it live, UH would have gotten their head handed to them by any one of the so-called BCS teams.

JT09, Mizzou had two losses, they lost twice to Oklahoma. Once in the regular season and another in the Big 12 championship game. Also what are your thoughts on tOSU offensive and defensive scheming? To me it's quite obvious Jim Tressel needs to stop calling plays on offense. Why the hell did he ever abandon the run last night blows my mind. It's also quite clear that although there current defensive play may work for the big 10, it doesn't cut it on the national stage. When you throw that d out there against any team with speed and one that runs the spread offense, there is trouble for that team. LB's covering WR's and TE's is almost always going to be a bad situation for the defense.

In all though Ohio State surprised the hell out of me this year. I thought they had a good chance of winning the big 10 and making it to a bcs bowl this year, but never thought of another National Championship game appearance (3 in 6 years is damn good i think). I think it would have been better for the team and all the fans for them to go to a different bcs bowl and not have to deal with all the stuff the NC game brings, win or loose. As a football fan I would have loved to have seen West Virginia or USC playing against LSU.

UM did have 2 losses. I meant to say that they didn't take care of business in the B12 gaem. That would have left them w/ 1 loss and in the MNC game. Typing too fast this morning is killing me.

The top has to round out with LSU, USC, WV and Georgia...Im not a USC fan boy...actually I cant stand it that they are the media darlings but they looked really good at the end of the season...just like Georgia and WV.

DRAGON88, very seriously. USC and LSU are the two best teams in the country, with UGA not far behind. WVU would be my #4 tbonez despite what the final polls say simply due to the way they manhandled OU.

The coaches agree with the order of my top 3.

You can't leave Kansas out of these top teams. Even though I don't think they're that great they only lost 1 game and won their BCS bowl.

Uh oh, some real steps towards a play-off system.

The chairman of the NCAA's executive committee is pushing for an 8 team play off in the next year or 2 and calls the the chances at least 50-50.

DRAGON88, and?

They already got their come-uppins for that game by not getting a chance at the MNC. In other words, that is old news.

USC and LSU are the two best teams in the country. If you doubt this, you are living in fantasyland.

DRAGON88, that would be fantasyland.

jt09, it would be a good game. Highly doubt either team would come out "worked".

Same with an LSU-UGA matchup if played right now. All three are damn good squads.

chavez, the score is not the whole story. We were in control and dominated USC all game.

Hell you even were making excuses for them a few pages ago. I'm not going to look back for it, but it was something along the lines of "congrats to Oregon for beating a struggling USC. Rolling Eyes "

If I'm smoking Oregon's finest, you're smoking Pete Carrol's finest.

Regardless that is all shamefully irrelevant at this point. I'll say it, I hate USC they're the only pac10 team I will root against. Regardless, I don't agree that they're the second best team in all the land. I don't think that's all that irrational of a claim.

DRAGON88, It was a one touchdown win that came down to a INT from the rook QB when SC was driving at the end of the game. THAT INT CAME IN THE RED ZONE!

What the hell game were you watching? Dominated my ass.

FYI, you did beat a struggling USC team. Who started at QB for USC? How were they doing with that backup QB prior to that game? hmm...

We watched the same game, I just didn't have Pete Carrol's nutsack as eyelids when I watched it.

usc - 101

net yds passing
ore - 157
usc - 277

jumalian, go look up all the stats for last night's game and then tell me who won. Stats are weak. It's what losers usually show when they don't like what the scoreboard says. Also, Oregon was ahead the entire game, save 5 minutes in the 3rd. I would say UO handled USC pretty easily that day.

jt09, umm, we watched the game. Just pointing out the obvious facts that UO fan is oblivious to.

SC lost, scoreboard. But making it out to be some sort of dominating effort is ridiculous.

If they handled SC that easily, why was SC in UO's red zone with a good shot at a tie at the end of that game? I mean, that pass goes the other way and SC scores, we are having a much different conversation aren't we?

Hey, the Colts were ahead the entire game against the Pats, save 3 minutes in the 4th. They must have dominated that game. Rolling Eyes

Actually Roper is our 5th string QB and the kid can throw the ball. He did surprisingly well and we won our bowl game.

As JT said, we lead pretty much the entire game.

Tie=/= win.

Oregon had a chance to tie CAL as well. We didn't do you hear me whining about it?

DRAGON88, no, but I sure as hell don't see scotta in here telling you how his team dominated your team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's be clear on what is "domination":

LSU dominated tOSU
SC dominated Ill
UGA dominated UH
UM dominated Arky
Ore dominated USF

Those are "dominating" performances. The other teams were shut down, slapped around, and made to look as if they didn't belong there. That is a "domination".

You guys won. Scoreboard.

So it wasn't a blowout - UO handled USC. The pass didn't go any other way and my aunt doesn't have balls. (and USC wasn't in the red zone when Sanchez threw the INT)

If you want to say USC is hot right NOW and could go toe-to-toe w/ anyone in CFB, I can buy that. If you want to say USC deserves some gold star for this season, I call bullsh*t. You lose twice in a season, it better be in 3OT and not include Stanford.
