|

After trying about 25 and not landing a single one, I figured I needed some more specific help. (i've already read through the forum topics and trick tips for tantrum.)
Here is a stack of attempts, sorry about the vid quality.

| u need to cut harder to clear the wake...that helps a lot...when u don't clear it it's a lot harder to land. I also think that ur r throwing it too early. Wait that extra split second until u get some pop becuz the way u r throwing it now it's really rushed and u have to spin super fast cuz ur so low. |

couple of issues i see here...one is you need a harder cut and maybe a wider one to clear to wake. secondly, weight the boat more on your heelside wake to clean it up a bit. third is you are leaving too early. with the proper cut and release off the wake, it will throw the flip for you. fourth, find some calmer water to get a nice clean consistent edge into the trick. its tough learning tricks in rougher water. _________________ www.liquidforce.com |

Looks like you're trying to throw your flip a little early. Take a wider cut out and edge in harder. Wait until you hit the lip of the wake to throw it as well.
Because of the need to square up off your edge, it slows you down, so come in harder to correct that. From the look of it you're throwing it early as well which takes away from a lot of pop which is why you're not clearing the wake.
If you correct all that and still have trouble with it, shorten the rope. _________________

Hiya, well everyone is right about the speed. To be a bit more specific and to understand the reason behind a more agressive wider approach cut is because at the wake you are transferring the weight from your heels to your toes (or more neutral edge if you must), this sucks all the speed and momentum that you have generated and converts it to lift and rotation. Basically its like like slamming the brakes on.
I had a look at the video and i can see you are doing a pretty good job trying. I would try to go out early to get some really flat water. Take a much WIDER approach but still try to keep it progressive or you will scerw up your timing. ONLY then after a few more attempts would i be inclined to say ride up the wake more blah blah blah because the begining is wrong so why even talk about the end???
Wide approach and flat water which will keep your chest up and i think you will stick it.
Good luck
(just read Ricky V post and he is also bang on about thje flat water) |

| it doens't look like your transitioning to your toes, and you're fliping before you initiate your air. |
