Alright, well basically I got a chance to join the LF team out at the delta recently and had the opportunity to grab a few sets on the upcoming SST deck that you might have recently read about.

I'm not gonna comment too much on how it rides aside from saying that it feels like a traditional concave, but packs some rediculous pop. Hopefully in a week or so I'll have something written up that will combine my thoughts with those of the rest of the local LF skaters who also took the board for a whirl.

For now, some pictures:
top of the board, obviously...

and here it is again!

and now the bottom of the deck.

separation between top deck and bottom deck

more separation between top and bottom of the deck

sharpness of the rail at the middle of the deck

sharpness of the rail at the tail end of the deck

scott a, I have not been on a Bi-Level before. I have read some not so good reviews of this type of design.

What have they done to address some of the existing concerns?

muckmeister, take what you heard about the other bi-level designs and throw it out the window, because this rides like a regular concave. I'll be posting an on-the-water review of the deck soon.

But yeah, this deck totally rocks.

I dont see how you can generate THAT much pop out of this system. its just 2 skates on top of each other, one has more rocker.. lol. From what ive seen on video of this board, silus does a VERY subpar kickflip nose dive.. lol i dont see this board as being that great, just gimicky... like most big name companies. Neutral

Why wouldn't they just make a single deck board with a larger concave on the back than doing bi-level? Does the thickness in the center provide any advantages or does the flex on the top board help?

Because to me this is a heavier version of a normal concave board with a very thick concave.

Have you ridden the SST? If not, then dont call it a gimmick.

The board works as advertised. I absolutely LOVE it. Go ride it and lemme know what you think.
