We are installing a system on my boat that has two tower speakers and a sub and we are putting in a second battery with a battery isolator so we can run the system on one battery and the boat on the other and I was wondering if any1 had tips or had done this before.

I had an Isolater for a little bit but the problem I had was the Isolater I bought was big enough for the amount of amperage my alternator put out. After speaking with and alternator repair dude he told me to run a solenoid triggered isolater. It was way cheaper and apparently is the better way of doing it. I saw a lot of different posts on what isolaters how to wire them etc. I would talk to a technician and tell him what you are wanting to do. I believe the guy said my alternator puts out appro 100-105 amps...this you need to make sure of.
