For some reason my pump will not empty my sacs. I am connecting the pump directly to the sac, pushing down on the pump trying to get it to plumb, and also venting the sac. Everything the directions say and still nothing. It fills just fine but my crew and I are getting tired of having the pick the sacs up and hold them over the boat to drain every time. If I can't figure it out I may do away with sacs and go to pop bags. Any ideas?

If the pump is working fine when you're filling then it's obviously not broken. Make sure the pump is touching some water that is inside the sack. Maybe pull it to the side or push down on it or something.

jpminter, but dont push it too hard or itll suck on the bottom/sides of the sack and not the water and it wont work. I just got a launch pad 750 and Ive been tinkering with it to drain it. Usually I have to push it down like jpminter said but as I said, if you push to hard, it suctions against the sack. Also it helps to tilt the sack to get all of the water to the side the pumps at. Even with doing all of that, I usually cant get 100 % of the water out, maybe 50 lbs worth. If I want to get the rest, I just pick it up, put it on the dock, and open one of the normal drain holes towards the end/bottom and tilt it until it all drains out.

This sounds gay, but you can prime the pump by using your mouth to create a vacuum on the dump hose after you have attached the pump to the fat sac and turned it on.

aarond0083, Here's another dumb question, but are you turning the pump around and installing it the opposite way you are filling it? You just say you're connecting it directly, but I just want to make sure what you mean by that.

...and what are pop bags?

oshensurfer, pump in the water and hose on the bag to fill. hose hanging over the boat and pump on the bag to attempt to empty.

Pop bags are bags with steel pellets in them. 40 lbs a bag, easily movable. http://www.pop-products.com

aarond0083, Those are sweet.

Try getting flow to the hose laying on the floor of the boat. If that works then flip it over the side of the boat. It may be having trouble pumping up and over the gunwale. Don't know what else to tell you... Good luck.

Maybe there is leaking some air in via another vent in the bag ?
Are all plugs secured tight enough ?

Yes but are you reversing the intake/outtake?

jryoung,

There is no need to reverse it. The pump in the water fills, the pump attached to the bag is supposed to empty. Moving the pump is the reversing.

Also, I don't think you can reverse the fly high pump.
