2 of these boats are located within driving range of when I live. I was wondering if anyone could tell me on average how they hold up over time being as they are 20 years old. (Suffer from rot badly?) As well, both have towers and redone upholstery and I was wonder what kind of wake they would throw. (Any wake pics out there?)

Thanks

spyd4r, the sunsport is the sought after version of the earlier Supra's. They have the deep early launch hull on them. And when weighted throw a viscious wake.

As for how they hold up, just like any other boat, it depends on the owner. I have nearly cried as I looked upon great Supra's that are just dead after only 10 years. And then you have guys like me and lowcashfireman who take care of ours and have spent alot of time keeping them in pristine condition.

There's a ton of posts on them. I have found two that involve Mariah's like mine, but the information to watch out for and look for is the same.

As for the wake. I have a Mariah, which is basically a lighter, more shallow hull. I put 1200lbs in mine and it's a very good wake. We put the 1200 in my friends with the same hull, and his internal 250lbs ballast, and it's a great wake!

Rot will always be a concern with a older boat with wooden stringers. All you can do is check it out yourself and look for soft spots, spinning engine mount bolts, and the like.

IMO it does seem a but pricey but inboards are always a bit pricier up here anyway. If a person was up for it, now would be the time to take advantage of a very strong Canadian dollar and buy a boat across the border.
