| I'm here, but not for long. I'm permanently (for at least 4 years) moving to Boulder, CO in August. |

I haven't, but my first impressions are:
1) Brrrrrrrr
2)Most lakes around there are rather small
3) I doubt they allow power boats on most, if not all, of them or at least have a pretty low speed limit.
Now, a number of people board on Silver Lake, but I don't think that's probably one of the lakes you're talking about as it's on the way to Mt. St. Helens, but not really all that close to it. I have a friend who's grandparents have a house on Silver Lake and we used to take rowboats and canoes out all the time. I haven't been up there in a few years but if the lillypads are still as dense as they were, it could be pretty interesting trying to maneuver with more than a few other boats on the lake. _________________ Get Frugally Green!

Laugh Damon, Well I'm back up north from Arizona, but as far as Washington goes I live in the southwest.

Actually, that is exactly what I was referring to Grace B. We frequently hit it due to its closeness to both vancouver and Longview. Nice clean water, and a few good spots that we've come across. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/galen96 |

| Yale & Swift are cold, dirty and have a large influx of biting platypus. Please ride at your own risk or better yet ride in the Columbia. Seriously............. |

Merwin, Yale, and Swift all suck, lots of tubers and crazy locals!
Johny_WA, My parents have a Super Air, so I'm usually all set. The weather has sucked lately, we went wakesurfing yesterday in the rain, wasn't fun. |

I've never seen or heard anything about sewage and I've been riding on the Columbia my whole life. |
I think people generally think the lower Columbia is heavily polluted because the Willamette gets so polluted in Portland and then dumps into the Columbia. I don't know how true it is that the Willamette really pollutes the Columbia because the Columbia is such an enormously larger river that it's capable of diluting the pollution that gets dumped into it from the Willamette.
I would imagine there is certainly some truth to the sentiment though. The Willamette gets very nasty in the winter. That should all change soon though with the new storm water system they're installing in Portland. _________________ Get Frugally Green!

I'd say THe columbia is poluted before it even gets to the mouth of WIllamette.
Considering the river cruises past Wenatchee, tri cities a ton of other little towns, and insane amounts of Farmland (pesticides), not to mention the fact that your downriver of hanford, where they used to cool nuclear energy IN THE RIVER!
I'd say the river is plenty polluted, but it doesnt stop me from riding in it! Just try not to swallow it! _________________ "Your tomorrow may never come" -Mike Ness |
