Okay heres the deal, I put in a new Sony deck that is 52x4 =208 watts. Boat has four stock ? speakers that are running off the Sony head unit. I added two Kicker tower speakers. I ran the tower speakers off a Kicker 350.4 amp with a sub also off the amp. When I turn up the stereo about three quarters of the way it starts to cut out or turn off. I have heavy duty (8 gauge) wire run straight to battery from amp. Now when I unplug two of the stock boat speakers, all is fine. So what happened? Should stock speakers be reconfigured? Thanks

I think I kind of had the same problem with mine when I first got it. I solved my problem by running the power and ground wire for the cd player strait to the battery...with a fuse to be safe.

consider a cap... try monitoring voltage @ amp power inputs to measure dips during hard play. cut out is almost always due to insufficient power. most likely, something is preventing the amps from getting enough power, or the battery/alternator just can't keep up with the power drain. measuring voltage will really help troubleshoot.

make sure you have the bass at 0 or less on the radio . Sounds like you are over driving the original 4 speakers and the radio is clipping ( cutting on and off )

I've seen HU's cut out when they are trying to push 4 speakers...usually happens at abtou 3/4 volume.....27/28 out of 35/36.
