This is pretty lame because it's just sanding and painting pretty much Laughing

but I thought I'd share anyway... it turned out pretty nice.

I actually used Sikkens Cetol Marine Sealer after doing some reading on here. I don't want to have to keep oiling it for one, and while some people say it's more slippery, we ride off the dock most of the time anyway. And IMO it looks just as good... so I'll go the sealant route.

I heard that Automatic Transmission fluid (RED stuff) does wonders!!! Last for a couple years if you let it soak in real good. Then whipe the excess away after about 10 minutes. I haven't tried it, but I'm going to the next time I have to redo my teak platform.

I used sparvarnish on mine about 3-4 years ago and it still looks pretty good but it is just about time to touch it up some. I had oiled it before but it only looked good for a week or so then would start to look faded and dry. Someone told me that once it is sealed that oil will not absorb like it should. As far as I know they are all sealed these days.
