|
|
Hey I'm now looking at an O'Brien Cartel 135. I'm just wondering if it is too small because I weigh 165 lbs and am about 5'8". The next size is 141 and I do not want to go that much bigger.
Would a smaller board be better for spins and inverts and would it make a huge difference on rougher days?
Thanks.
PS. I've been riding an O'Brien Diesel 137 for a while. _________________

devon, cancelled it. With duties, taxes, shipping, and exchange it worked out to like $900
Okay, I found another package, so I need some opinions. Either way I'm going with the ion bindings.
O'brien Cartel 135 ($750) or O'Brien Player 138 ($640)?
Would the Cartel be worth the extra $100? _________________

141 wouldn't be too big at all. It just depends on what your preference is. I'm the same size as you and I've always ridden boards over 140. Anything shorter just didn't seem to ride as 'smooth' to me. But then again, some guys love short boards...
I've heard the Cartel is one bada** board. I'm hoping to get to try one out myself. |

River City Marine is pretty overpriced. Ocean Pacific only deals those no-name boards and some Body Glove boards to my knowledge. _________________

Excuse my french but F**K BUYWAKE! I sent them a cancellation email but they're still sending my board. Looks like I'll end up with the Vault after all. _________________

I'm in the 180 - 185 lb range and have been riding the Cartel 135. I have ridden the 141 as well but the 135 just feels better to me.
And yes it is bada$$. |

QNev, that sucks $900 hopefully the board suits your style
I'm surprised at Buywakes customer service, but at least you get a rope for a good deal |

The cartel probably would have worked out the same. Actually with shipping and other costs this thing really worked out to $721 but I just have to figure out what the duty is on it. The cartel with bindings would have been $750 plus the cost of a rope. Buywake has actually been pretty cool about the shipping screwup. I got 10% off my next purchase too
I'm actually kind of curious to see how the Vault rides because it isn't symmetrical for the heel and toe sides which surprises me. If anyone has ridden this, how do you set it up for the bindings? Which way do the toes face? _________________
