Soo, I'm a begginner, I've only done a teensy bit of wakeboarding- a bit on my 16 yr old cousin's board, which was like huge for me, and a bit on my 11 yr old cousin's board, and he had it set all funky and I kept biffing it out the front. I was just wondering if you guys had any tips on things I should try? I'm going out for the first time on my new board and bindings this weekend, so I'd just like to know what I should get down to =)
Thankyouu, your advice is appreciated.

These are the basic building blocks upon which all wakeboard tricks are based. If you want to progress, that list should keep you busy for a while. Most important of all though... HAVE FUN! Cool

1. Learn to get up every time.
2. Learn to edge properly both heelside and toeside
3. Learn to ride switch
4. Learn to edge switch heelside and toeside
5. Learn to ollie
6. Learn to jump the wake heelside
7. Learn to jump the wake toeside
8. Learn to jump the wake switch heelside and toeside

I'm still pretty much of noob myself, but I've got nearly a year of riding under my belt. I'm on the verge of getting #6 and will be moving on to #7 soon hopefully. You don't necessarily need to master each and every one in that exact order, but you need to learn all of that if you want to move on to more advanced riding, as I hope to do.

HHI Dave should start his own instructional. If you want to see some of it in action, and get some explanations and drills to follow as you ride more, get a copy of "The Book." Volume 1 will be more for people who have rarely or never ridden. Volume 2 helped me progress a TON toward achieving those 8 goals.

I don't know about all that. There's a difference between knowing what you should be able to do, and actually doing it. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I spent the better part of a career as an instructor so its kind of like old habits dying hard. Besides, those who can't do....teach. Wink

I agree 100% about "The Book". It is by far the next best thing to actual live coaching.

Better yet, spend some time at The Wakeboard Camp and let the folks from the DVD's teach you in person (Kyle Schmidt, Aaron Reed, Ben Greenwood, Chad Lowe, Amber Wing, etc)
